MAKING EVERLASTING MEMORIES

Lisa's Story

In 2012, Lisa Magill, a vibrant 30-year-old from Northern Ireland, was diagnosed with sarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. As her illness progressed, an Australian charity, Dreams2Live4, reached out to grant her a final wish. Within a week, Lisa and her family were on a plane to Broome, Western Australia. For five days, they experienced a sense of normalcy, free from medical discussions, creating cherished memories.

Lisa documented her journey with honesty and humour on her blog, Terminally Fabulous, inspiring many with her resilience and candid reflections.

Moved by the profound impact of Lisa's experience, her mother, Geraldine, established Dreams2Memories. This initiative aims to bring similar joy and comfort to other adults in Northern Ireland facing terminal illnesses.

Our Mission

At Dreams2Memories, we believe that every person living with a terminal illness deserves the chance to experience joy, comfort, and a moment of escape from the weight of their diagnosis.

Inspired by the extraordinary life and final wish of Lisa Magill — a daughter, sister, and friend who faced cancer with courage, honesty, and humour — our mission is to grant meaningful dreams to adults across Northern Ireland who are living with metastasized cancer.

Lisa’s own dream, made possible by the Australian charity Dreams2Live4, brought her five unforgettable days of peace and normality in the final chapter of her life. That experience left a profound impact on her and her family, and it planted the seed for Dreams2Memories.

We exist to carry that gift forward — by working with families, communities, and generous businesses to create bespoke experiences that offer light in the darkest of times.

Because for us, a dream isn’t just a getaway — it’s a legacy of love, and a memory that lasts forever.

What Our Dreams Are All About

When you're living with a terminal illness, life can feel consumed by hospital visits, treatments, and worry. At Dreams2Memories, we believe there’s still space for light, laughter, and love — and we exist to make that possible.

A dream isn't always extravagant. Sometimes it's simply the chance to feel normal again, to be surrounded by the people you love, or to do something you thought you'd never get to do again.

Through the kindness of local businesses and supporters, Dreams2Memories helps to create unforgettable experiences for adults facing a terminal cancer diagnosis. These dreams are as unique as the people we support — from a peaceful weekend retreat, to a family photo shoot, a reunion with someone special, or even a small wedding.

Whatever the dream, our goal is to give families a moment of peace, a chance to reconnect, and memories they’ll treasure forever.

Because in the midst of pain, joy still matters.

Because one beautiful moment can change everything.

Meet Geraldine The Heart Behind Dreams2Memories

“When your world stops, all you can do is try to make the most of the moments you have left. That’s what I did with Lisa – and now, that’s what I want to do for others.”

— Geraldine Magill, founder of Dreams2Memories

In 2017, Geraldine lost her 35-year-old daughter Lisa to sarcoma — a rare and devastating form of cancer. During Lisa’s final months, an Australian charity, Dreams2Live4, stepped in and offered Lisa a simple, powerful gift: a dream come true.

Just one week later, Lisa and her family were on a plane to Broome, Western Australia, for five days of peace, laughter, and love. No hospitals. No diagnoses. Just family, sunshine, and normality.

“Lisa herself said it was the most normal she had felt in a very long time. The 'C word' wasn’t mentioned once.”

That experience stayed with Geraldine long after Lisa passed. When her family returned home to Northern Ireland, she knew she had to do something. Something that would bring that same sense of hope and healing to others walking the same heartbreaking path.

And so, Dreams2Memories was born.

Geraldine now works closely with the community, local councillors, and businesses to bring beautiful moments to adults across Northern Ireland living with terminal illness. From family reunions to peaceful weekends away, her mission is clear:

“Nothing can replace the feeling of seeing a dream come true for a loved one who is terminally ill. It brings a kind of peace that stays with the family long after they're gone.”

Whether you’re here to apply for a dream or support someone else’s, we invite you to walk this journey with us.
